I have not been doing much painting recently. This is, I think, the reason I have been feeling rather gloomy and grouchy. I had almost convinced myself I must have seasonal affective disorder as the weather has been so appalling recently and seemed to coincide with my mood but then I realised it's probably just my lack of creativity! The problem is two fold - I have banned myself from starting anything new until I have at least finished some of the projects I've already started but of course, this is rather dull. The other problem is light, or lack of it, with the thundery weather it's rather difficult to paint anyway as I can't get the colours right. I can't even take photos of pieces I need to put on my website because its so dark! I think I need to invest in a good quality "day light" lamp - suggestions please?!
Anyway, at the end of this week we are going back to the UK for 10 days and so hopefully I will have everything tied up and organised by then and can start afresh when we return at the beginning of June, plus fingers crossed, summer will have finally arrived.
On a more positive note, I was contacted the other day by Rona Wheeldon from Surrey, England who writes a blog on everything related to flowers and had come across my Jane Packer paintings. She wants to blog about me which is very flattering....it should be posted next week so I'll post a link to it when its up.
