Paper Sketches

Thank goodness it's the weekend, it's been a swelteringly hot week here in New York. We will hopefully be getting some respite once it breaks with a thunderstorm or two. I spent the day hiding away in the studio with the A/C blasting. Decided to work on some small sketches on paper to work up some ideas for new work. Here is one of them.

I hope 2012 has been good to everyone so far? It's been a bit of a slow start to my artistic year so far but this last week has been much more productive. I've got several painting projects on the go including continuing on with the New York water towers and cityscapes series. I am also planning to start exploring some work in mixed media, here is the first in that series...

I had been saving up this beautiful tissue paper that my mother acquired from some purchase or other and I thought it would make a fitting back drop to this little flower painting.
